ULTRA COMBO is a 1v1 card game played using a standard 52-card poker deck. Players take turns to chain cards together and attempt to make combos.
When the game starts, shuffle the deck and place it face down. The EXPLODIUM QUOTIENT is a number that begins at 1. Decide who goes first randomly.
When your turn begins, increase the EXPLODIUM QUOTIENT by 1, then draw cards equal to the level of the EXPLODIUM QUOTIENT. Afterwards, play any card from your hand to start your combo.
Now, you play additional cards to continue your combo. Whenever you play a card this way, draw a card. When you can't combo any longer, your turn ends.
The order of ranks is 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, A. Any rank of card can combo after the rank immediately preceding it. Any card can combo after any other card of the same suit. Aces are wild cards and can combo before or after any other card.
When you play a card for your combo, your opponent may immediately attempt a C-C-COMBO BREAKER by playing a card that combos after it on top of that card. You can COUNTER-COMBO BREAKER the COMBO BREAKER by playing a card that combos after the COMBO BREAKER. Then your opponent can COUNTER-COUNTER-COMBO BREAKER your COUNTER-COMBO BREAKER by playing a card that combos after it, you can counter his COUNTER-COUNTER-COMBO BREAKER, and so on. Repeat the COUNTERING SHENANIGANS until one player chooses not to continue. If your opponent played the last card in the COUNTER SANDWICH, your combo is broken and your turn ends. Otherwise, set the entire COUNTER SANDWICH aside and continue your combo.
When your turn ends, shuffle all cards back into the deck. Draw cards equal to the number of hits in the combo you played this turn. Then it becomes your opponent's turn.
When any player successfully pulls off a 10-hit combo that isn't countered, that player achieves an ULTRA COMBO and wins the game.
